Nikki Boetger

Nikki grew up drawing in the front covers of my coloring books and on the back of paper placemats in restaurants.  She did well in art classes throughout school and was encouraged by her high school art teachers to take it to the next level and apply for art school.

Nikki graduated in 2001 from Columbus College of Art and Design and walked away wanting to create art in the children’s market. Today, she works by day as the graphic designer for the Lane Libraries in Butler County, Ohio and becomes a freelance illustrator in the evenings and weekends. Her first picture book, What’s Wrong with Mud? was the ABC Picture Book Competition winner in 2007 and was released in September. Her next project debuts with the first of three books, Lemur Troops & Critter Groups, released in December 2009 and with the other two set for print in 2010 by 4RV Publishing.

In her spare time you can find Nikki playing with her Alaskan Husky’s, Ananke and Kaya, spending time with family or wrapped up in last minute art projects.
